Movin' on up.......

There were two sets of twins born at Medical City today, so our triplets got evicted from the NICU this afternoon and were moved up to the overflow section on the 7th floor, which is the labor and delivery floor. They are now considered to be "feeders and growers" and no longer require quite the same level of attention as before. Their room is not nearly as nice as the one in the NICU, but it has its own bathroom, which is an improvement from the last one.

Camille is doing fine at monitoring her own body temperature, but Henrik and Annika still need the warmers for the time being. We're hoping that they will be in a single crib together in another week or so. They turned 34 weeks today, so the Dr. said he'll start them on one bottle feeding per day next week. The feeding tubes are helping them get a full feeding without throwing up or exerting too much energy, but we'll be glad when they are at the point in which they can feed on their own. Each baby will need to take a full 8 feedings a day by bottle and be able to regulate his or her tempurature before coming home.

Henrik and Camille have both surpassed their birthweight and Annika is back to her birthweight. Babies typically lose 10% of their body weight after birth, so this is all part of the normal maturation process. Here are their weights (you can scroll down to see their birth weights):

Camille: 4lb 1oz
Annika: 3lb 11oz
Henrik: 4lb 4oz
