Day Seven

They were about to put Annika and Henrik in the same bed today, but Annika tested high beryllium levels and needs to have her own bed so that she can receive photo therapy for jaundice. In order to help them gain some weight, the doctor started fortifying their milk up from 20 calories per ounce to 22 calories per ounce. Camille is doing the best at regulating her own temperature. Once the others catch up, they will all go in the same bed. As you can see in the pictures, Chantel brought along some clothes that we changed them into today.

Day Six

We had to leave all the babies by themselves last night since Chantel got discharged from the hospital yesterday. They have all lost a bit of weight, which is normal due to fluid dishcharge and now weigh the following:

Camille - 3 lbs 11 oz
Henrik - 3 lbs 14 oz
Annika - 3 lbs 3 oz

All three are off their IVs and are solely being fed orally. Henrik and Camille are taking 24 cc per feeding and Annika is taking 22 cc per feeding. Since Camille is now able to regulate her own temperature, we're hoping we can get Henrik and Annika in the same bed. We're going to ask the doctor this weekend because Annika seems really lonely by herself.

The pictures today are a bit less eventful than the previous ones since Chantel was busy with the babies and I went back to work yesterday. Anway, this at least provides some physical evidence that I did, in fact, buy a minivan. I also included some pictures of our nursery.

Day Five

It is day 5 and everyone is still doing well. Chantel got discharged from the hospital today, so she'll probably pick up the blogging from here. They are all up to 17 mL feedings every three hours. Camille got her IV taken out today, so hopefully the others will lose theirs tonight. Annika is still in her own bed, but it shouldn't be too long before they all will be together.

Day Four

Everyone is still doing well. Chantel is set to come home tomorrow. They put Henrik and Camille in the same bed. It is easy to tell that he and Camille are much happier together. They slept with entangled arms and legs all day today. Annika is still the smallest one and needs her own bed to better regulate her temperature. We hope they will put them all in the same bed soon! At least they are now all in the same room. All 3 are on 8 daily feedings that will increase by 3 ML every third feeding. Once they reach 35 ML feedings, they will be able to remove the IVs.

They Arrived

Chantel went into labor at around 3:00 pm on June 24th. We got her to the hospital around 3:30. She then gave birth to the triplets at 4:51, 4:52, and 4:53.

Here are their names and weights in the order that they were delivered.

(A) Camille Susan - 3 lbs 15 oz
(B) Henrik Wallace - 4 lbs 3 oz
(C) Annika Kjerstin - 3 lbs 10 oz

They are all doing fine and breathing on their own. They are just really small and will need to spend a month or so in the hospital before they can come home. Chantel is doing great and gets to come home on Thursday.

Here are some pictures from the delivery room:
